Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to see my doctor to start physical therapy?

No, you may refer yourself directly to physical therapy.  If you DON’T have insurance…Don’t worry, we have programs just for you! Depending on the complexity of your condition, treatments range between $40-$90 per session.

What should I expect on my first visit?

First, be sure to write down the important facts about the history of your problem.  Be sure to bring a list of your medications and any surgeries or procedure you have had in the past.

Wear comfortable clothes – for example:  shorts if you have a leg injury and short-sleeved top or tank tops for shoulder injuries.

There will be an initial evaluation – focusing on measuring impairments that may be causing your problem or that may be affected by your injury.

Finally, we will discuss with you the goals of treatment and the expected course of your rehab.

How long will my visit last?

Between 30-45 minutes for a new eval and follow-ups are 30 minutes. There is an option to extend sessions depending on the complexity of the case.  Please check with our office for fees associated with extended sessions.

How long will it take for me to get better?

How quickly you recover is determined by many factors unique to you. These factors include the extent of damaged tissue, how long you have had the injury, nutrition, emotional state, etc.

Many clients feel better after the very 1st session and most complete therapy after only 6 sessions!

What is my responsibility in physical therapy?

We can provide you with the tools to recover but we ask that all patients and clients cooperate by following through with their home exercise programs and instructions.

What happens after my therapy is complete?

Some patients will need to continue with home exercises. Some may choose to continue with a gym exercise program. Others will complete their rehabilitation and return to normal daily activities. It is important that you communicate your goals to us so that we can develop a custom program for you.
